Physical Therapy
To provide the highest quality of care to our patients, the VMS physical therapy department is staffed with experienced physical therapists and physical therapy assistants. They have special training in the areas of orthopedics, sports medicine, neurology, and geriatrics. Our therapists are also involved as educators in the field of physical therapy through their involvement as clinical specialists, faculty members and research advisors at The University of Scranton and Keystone College.
Evidence based evaluation and treatment techniques are used by the physical therapists at VMS. This evidence based therapy allows you as the patient to regain function and maintain progress after discharge. Patient independence and pro-activity are encouraged in therapy though the use of patient education materials and home exercise programs. Very often, this goal can be achieved in 2-6 visits. To maintain progress, the transition to a health club exercise program at our facility is suggested in some cases. In order to ensure patient satisfaction, the therapist never works with more than two patients at any given time.
